The EPBD (European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) Buildings Platform

This is an EC initiative under the Intelligent Energy-Europe programme. It provides information services for practitioners and consultants, experts in energy agencies, interest groups and national policy makers in the European Member States to help them implement the EPBD.

ES-SO collaborates with other European umbrella organisations on the EPBD Platform in collecting and disseminating information via the Platform's international and local communication channels. By doing so, ES-SO can ensure that policy makers and authorities in EU countries hear and recognise the solar shading industry's contribution to the energy debate. Passive cooling in summer and using free solar energy in winter do lead to substantial energy savings in the built environment.
