RESHAPE
RESHAPE (Retrofitting Social Housing and Active Preparation for EPBD (2006-2008) focuses on one of the EU's major challenges over the next few decades: how can we refurbish the millions of existing social dwellings which are not energy-efficient?
The aims of this project are:
- To demonstrate how well-prepared those involved in social housing are for the implementation of the EPBD, by planning and testing the integration of energy performance certification (EPC) into operational processes and services
- To test and demonstrate added-value opportunities for EPC
- To develop support tools for Western, Southern and Eastern Europe
- To inform all those involved in social housing about the outcomes of the project.
ES-SO is interested in this project because its scope and its size represent majors challenges of both a societal and a technical nature. Solar shading can be applied to existing housing in a simple fashion, and the energy saved by avoiding the use of electric cooling devices should be a major focal point.
