ES-SO, the European Solar-Shading Organization, was founded in 2005. Originally started with 6 founding members, the association covers now 17 European countries. ES-SO is structured in a General Assembly and a Board of Directors. The organization is supported by the Secretariat, the Technical and Marketing Committee. The activities of the Association are financed by the annual subscription of its members.
The General Assembly is made up of all the members of the Association and meets generally twice a year. It elects the members of the Board of Directors and the President for three years. It has full powers in allowing the aims of the Association to be fulfilled.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the general policy of the Association within the context of the legal powers exercised by the General Assembly. The Board of Directors elects a Vice-Chairman, a Treasurer and a Secretary among its members.
The President of the Association is also the Chairman of the Board of Director. He represents the Association in all external and internal matters.
The Committees are set up by the General Assembly with specific duties.
The Technical Committee and the Marketing Committee are the backbone of ES-SO.
